JEE preparation
A study tracker built for JEE preparation
JEE is a two-stage exam with two attempts at the first stage, and a syllabus large enough that the real risk is not forgetting a formula - it is losing track of which chapters you have actually revised. Karma Yogi logs Physics, Chemistry and Maths as separate subjects with topic-level sessions underneath.
JEE at a glance
| Subjects | Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics |
|---|---|
| Two stages | JEE Main, then JEE Advanced for those who qualify |
| Attempts at Main | Two sessions per year; the better score counts |
| Marking (Main) | +4 correct, -1 wrong on MCQs |
Three subjects that fail for completely different reasons
Physics goes wrong through problem-setup errors, Chemistry through unmemorised inorganic facts and organic mechanisms, Maths through calculation slips under time pressure. Averaging them into one "studied today" figure loses exactly the distinction that tells you what to do next.
The tracker keeps each subject separate, with its own hours, session history and mock score trend, so "my Chemistry has not moved in six weeks" is a thing you can see rather than a suspicion.
Topic-level sessions, because the syllabus is the problem
JEE covers roughly two years of the NCERT syllabus across three subjects. The failure mode is not one hard chapter, it is twenty chapters you covered once in class and never returned to.
Every session in Karma Yogi carries a topic, so your log becomes a record of chapter coverage rather than a count of hours. Filtering by subject shows which chapters appear repeatedly and which appear once in March and never again.
Main and Advanced are not the same exam to track
Main rewards speed and accuracy across a wide, predictable question set; Advanced rewards depth on multi-concept problems, with a marking scheme that changes between years and includes partial credit. A mock trend that mixes both tells you very little - see the difference between Main and Advanced for why.
Log them as separate mock series and the two trends stay readable. Your Advanced accuracy dropping while Main holds steady is a real signal; buried in a combined average it is invisible.
Two attempts means the January cycle is data, not just a score
Because the better of your two Main scores counts, the January attempt is the most informative mock you will ever take - real conditions, real cohort, real percentile. Treated as a one-off result it tells you a rank; treated as data it tells you which subject to spend February and March on.
The tracker lets you log it alongside your practice mocks so the comparison is direct rather than remembered.
